Chapter 2 uses a Statistical Process Control system extensively to ensure nothing but the highest quality of parts are made for our customers. The following pages include examples of Chapter 2's Process Sheets that are utilized on ALL jobs for this fact. Below you can find a sample of each process sheet along with a short description.

  • 2-Piece Layout

Used at the initial startup of production jobs to verify all parties agree on the measurements of the final product.  The 2 piece layout includes the customer name, customer part number, the parts name, our job number, part drawing with all dimensions and measurement results for 2 pieces.

  • Setup Procedures

Used at the initial setup of each operation detailing all required tooling, operation name and number, proper CNC program number and special instructions for each individual setup.

  • Job Sheet

Job sheets describe each individual operation a product goes through.  This is used as a point of reference for operators to know and understand the operation at hand.  Each job sheet includes the customer name, customer part number, operation name and number, part name, our job number, part drawing, special instructions, and inspection instructions.

  • SPC Log Sheets

Statistical Process Control Log (SPC) sheets are used to record all data from inspections required for each operation a product goes through.  SPC Log sheets include the customer name, customer part number, operation name and number, part name, characteristics to inspect, method of inspection and frequency of inspection.

  • Control plan

The Control Plan is used to control the product characteristics and the associated process variables to ensure capability and stability of the product over time.

  • Failure Mode & Effects analysis (FMEA)

The FMEA sheet is used to identify the risk associated with something potentially going wrong (creating a defect - out of specification) in the production of the product.  The FMEA identifies what controls are placed in the production process if any defects at variuos stages of processing occur.
